      No — the detector works as a standalone local alarm without any gateway. It will trigger the 70dB alarm whenever gas is detected. To receive phone notifications and integrate with Alexa or Google Home, you need a Tuya gateway (sold separately).

      It detects natural gas (CH4), LPG (propane/butane), Bio-gas, and manufactured gas. It covers all common combustible gases used in home kitchens, boilers, and appliances.

      Where should I install it?

      For gases heavier than air (LPG, propane, butane): install 0.3-1m from the floor. For gases lighter than air (natural gas, CH4): install 0.3-1m from the ceiling. In both cases, install within 1.5m of the gas source. See the installation diagram in the box.

      How loud is the alarm?

      70dB at 1 metre — clearly audible throughout a standard home. The alarm also flashes a red LED when triggered.

      Does it need batteries?

      No — it plugs directly into a wall socket (EU, US, or UK plug available). No batteries to buy, replace, or worry about running flat.

      How long does the sensor last?
